A Brief History of BOLTMATE INC.

BOLTMATE INC. arose from the urgent need for a simple, cost effective and easy to install method of securing electrical transmission towers.

This has been a major problem for the industry for many years. Hydro One (Ontario Hydro as it was known then) had devoted some years focusing in on this concern. Using in-house engineers, several approaches were investigated and tested.

BOLTMATE INC. worked on this issue as well and eventually perfected a product which was eventually patented (US Pat. # 5,927,917 and patents pending).

Demonstrations were organized and several companies were invited to exhibit their appliance. These companies included Hydro One, Huck Manufacturing and their C50ltm Huckbolt® fastening system and Boltmate™. BOLTMATE INC. was chosen over all these companies as having a superior product. Thousands of these nuts are in use on Ontario's electrical transmission towers.

BOLTMATE INC. is now in the process of expanding the use of its self-torquing, tamperproof nuts throughout North America, while continuing research and development of this and other products.
